PC-Scope Diagnsotic PCI Post Card

PC-Scope Post Card is a PCI based Diagnostic & Troubleshooting card for PCI local bus motherboards allowing realtime feedback of system boot status and current state of the PCI Byte Enable/Command signals.

The PC-Scope PCI Post Card can help IT professionals and system engineers in the troubleshooting and repair of non-responsive systems by obtaining system status direct from port I/O 80H.

The PC-Scope PCI Diagnostic Post Card is also capable of decoding from the PCI bus C/BE as well checking the presence of +5, +3.3, -12 and 12V power lines. Easy to Configure and Use
There are NO switches or jumpers to set. Just insert the PC-Scope card into any PCI slot and then boot up the computer. Watch the LEDs and digital display for failure symptoms. At power-on, the system BIOS performs a power on self-test of the system components. For each test the BIOS sends a test (POST) code to the digital display on the PC-Scope PCI POST card. If the test fails, the LED digital display will halt, showing the failing test code. The next step is to look up the code in the accompanying documentation to pinpoint the problem.

The reason this is important is that bus transactions can be locked up by faulty adapter cards that do not handshake signals properly. PC-Scope PCI Diagnostic Card monitors the major transaction signals so you will know if a handshake or synchronization did not occur properly.
